About Primordium

Primordium, Inc. is a Tampa, Florida - based development firm founded by a group of technical entrepreneurs and web-savvy investors who have been working together since the late 1990's. Since then, we've been launching everything from small online stores to large projects backed by multi-million dollar television campaigns. Over the years we've been fortunate enough to work with some of the most talented ecommerce experts and ultimately decided to consolidate some of our separate ventures into one company with a forward-looking plan. Primordium, the latin word for "original", was founded in 2010 and is the end result of more than a decade of experience in e-commerce, web development, and web marketing.

When it comes to ecommerce, nobody else does what we do. We don't follow trends, we set them.

Work Environment

We've created a work environment that's both fun and productive. Our office sports a full gym (dubbed "House of Pain"), a brainstorming room where our technical staff can work together on projects (dubbed "House of Brain"), and an in-house datacenter and test environment with 2 GB of fiber running to the building. The entire upstairs floor has been converted to an after-hours game room with a pool table, pinball machines, video games, foosball, free Mountain Dew, and other fun distractions. Having been in the development and project management business for more than a decade, we've learned that a happy technical staff results in better products. The atmosphere at our office reflects our acknowledgement of this, and encourages our employees to both work and play together.

Wholly-Owned Web Businesses

In addition to developing your next project, we're probably also in the middle of some of our own. One of the great things about our company vs. other development firms is that we aren't just a room full of nerds who code from 9 to 5 and play World of Warcraft the rest of the time - we actually build and run our own web businesses. When a member of our staff has an idea for something that would make a great product or website, we discuss it, research it, and if it's something we think there could be a market for we build it. Since our staff consists of both developers and marketers, we have everything we need to design, build, test, market, and fulfill orders. The experience of actually doing it means we know what to expect, what can go wrong, and how to fix it. That makes our team a great partner to have in your next online venture.

Most of our products are built to solve an internal requirement. Usually we (or a long-time partner) needed that type of functionality and we thought Hey, maybe other people might want it too!. That's how Cartooga™ and the Thumbnail Generator got their start, and both of those programs are surging their way towards becoming the leading products in their sectors. One thing is certain: we're always thinking of new ideas, and new ways to improve our existing products. Company Philosophy

We only sell what we've built ourselves. We don't resell other companies products, and we don't acquire other companies technology and white-label it or bundle third party applications in with our own. Our philosophy is that since we spent so much time building our world-class development team, we're going to use them to build whatever our imaginations - or yours - can conceive. This guarantees that your project will always consist of original code, authored by the same people you speak with in our initial meetings, and will never encounter copyright or infringement issues.
