Honesty in Commerce Launched

Primordium today announced the launch of a new web property, Honesty in Commerce, a community of online promoting transparency in e-commerce.

"There are a handful of "trust badges" available from vendors like TrustE or BBBOnline, but most of these only pertain to security and privacy." said Ron Rule, President of Primordium. "The Honesty in Commerce gold shield represents a merchants affirmation that they're being up front about their business, and refraining practices that mislead or confuse customers."

The Gold Shield (shown right) is available to any online store that meets 22 basic requirements and registers at the website. The Honesty in Commerce shield represents a merchant's promise to their customers that they're being up front about their company, their inventory status, shipping and return policies, and general business practices. It's a single line of Javascript that installs in seconds, won't cause a security error, and doesn't send visitors away from your site when they click to verify.

The site currently operates on the honor system and relies on users and other merchants to report abusers, however the site may offer a paid verification service in the future.
